Baptism Information

Who can be baptised at St Laurence Church?
Anyone who lives in, or has strong family connections with, the parish of Frodsham: for example, you may wish to discuss having a baby or young child baptised;

or perhaps an older child has expressed an interest in being baptised;
or maybe as an adult something is drawing you to consider baptism yourself.

Whatever your enquiry, please email the Vicar, Rev Elaine Atack, briefly outlining your request and providing your name, address and contact details:

When can baptisms take place?

Once churches are allowed to re-open after the prolonged period of Covid-19 related closure, we’ll do our best to fit your baptism into the church diary on a Sunday that suits you best – but we do ask for your patience as we slowly get back to “normal”.

Is there a difference between a christening and baptism?
No - two words meaning the same thing – the act of being formally welcomed into the Christian family through the waters of baptism.

What does a baptism service in church cost?

There is no official fee for a baptism, but St Laurence is a very ancient church building and responsibility for its upkeep lies with the local church community – so we would ask you to consider making a donation to St Laurence’s at the time of your baptism service, when we will also encourage those attending the service to make a “contactless” donation.
